According to unconfirmed reports from EU Today, the United States has reportedly implemented new export control rules affecting artificial intelligence. In a reported consequence, Anthropic has allegedly withdrawn its AI models from the European market, leaving users in the region without service. The regulation, presumably issued by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), would expand controls on AI models with sensitive applications.
